Lily Bee Finds

Domestic Bliss...

When I first received my DT box from Lily Bee, the first collection that caught my fancy was "Domestic Bliss". The colors and patterns were soft and pretty. Next came my problem.. I don't have photos that would fit the theme! But I knew I just had to work with these beauties. So I tried to get the patterns and colors that would work for my pictures... Here are a couple of pages I made with this line..

This second one is about my daughter's love for art.


A die-cut sheet and some hand-cut flowers together with some Maya Road embellishments help create a simple but colorful layout... still keeping focus on the photo.

I was looking at my lily bee Catching Fall rub-ons when one word stood out to me, FAMILY.  We recently took a family photograph while camping with relatives.  I cannot tell you the last time we had one with the four of us together.  I decided to create an altered press-board canvas to hold our family photo.

I started off painting my canvas first with a yellow and then with a chocolate brown. I wanted to have the bits of yellow peeking through and i am very happy with the results.

Then i layered the beautiful Catching Fall Pattern paper over the canvas. That word print on the Cider Pattern paper was too cute not to use it on my background.

Stacked another pattern paper and my photo onto the background.  I used a couple goodies from Maya Road and a Catching Fall Chipboard flower.  Next i cut some triangle pennant pieces out of various Catching Fall pattern paper.

I popped them up using Helmar Zap Dots. It gave those pennants just the right amount of dimension. 

Lastly i added the red Family rub-on from the Catching Fall Line.  I love my little family canvas.  I have the perfect spot to hang it on my wall.  I just need to decide whether to frame it or leave it as is.

Scaling it down

Good Morning!

Today I have a layout to share featuring Lily Bee's new line, Catching Fall!



When I find a gorgeous "text" patterned paper (such as Catching Fall's Cider), I love to use it as my backdrop. Why? Because it adds extra dimension and allows me to scale down everything else on my page (and maximize my pattern paper)!


With just a few extra elements, such as Maya Road Kraft envelopes, Catching Fall dies cuts, and a few strips of pattern paper, I am able to create a layout that draws your eye right to a small wallet sized photo.


A few butterflies punched from Catching Fall and Christmas Town papers, and a little mist were the final small elements needed to finish this "scaled down" look.

This is definitely a line worth falling for, don't you agree?

One of my favorite papers

is "Cider," a text paper that contains

little treasures in each line.

I cut it into sections, misted over it,

and engaged in a little word play.

so much to love about (Catching) Fall...

hey everyone...just dipping into the brand new Catching Fall line, and am loving all of the rich colors! i used a photo from last year's visit to the apple orchard to spark my journaling telling what i love about fall in Ohio...i even snipped some of the 12x12 rub-ons apart to work into the text for a suprise here and there.

i used my Slice to cut my title, and kind of went crazy with the staples lol...and don't forget, these rub-ons love to be layered! looking forward to seeing lots of layouts in the Ning gallery with this line :)

Catching Fall

hi everyone, katrina here. i couldn't wait to start creating with the new catching fall line. when i got this line, i immediately knew i wanted to do a back to school layout with it. the colors and patterns are prefect for any layout or project. so, if you haven't gotten your hands on this line, trust me, you must.

Tag Time

Hi Everyone! For today, I thought I would share with you guys my latest addiction - tags and crepe paper! I know, its probably a trend that has already come and gone, but since the last friendship swap that I joined - I've been addicted to making these tags and also having a ball with the crepe flowers (I started with one color and now have these in about 10 different colors)!


Also I just got my box of goodies... the new collections are even more amazing in person and you definitely don't want to miss out on these!!! So grabing the Catching Fall collection and a few other things (shown below), I made these Thank You tags for a some special folks.



To make the flower, I first punch a circle piece of cardstock and applied liquid glue before taking the roll of crepe paper and slowly folding it abit before applying it down (hope that description helps - I can't think of the word to describe it at the moment). Continue with the process all around and you will need a total of two pieces for the flower.



Once that is done, glue the pieces on top of each other and trim the sides - the top layer should be trimmed smaller than the bottom one. Also the trimming helps to make it more round - if its not already. Then its onto the tags, I first decorated the tag with distress ink and mist (background) and then with the various pattern papers from the catching fall collection. And to finish off the tag, I also added the trinket leaf pins and chipboard butterfly from Maya Road.




Hopefully I've inspired you abit to give these tags a try (if you are not already addicted to them) but either way, we would love to see any of your creations with these collections.

Got Scraps?

Have lots of scraps sitting around? I do, but I don't like holding onto half cut up papers but I also don't like throwing away perfectly usable supplies. So, I decided to make up some little note cards that I can throw into my kids (or even husbands) lunchbox. I've always wanted to be one of those moms that leave little cards in the lunchboxes. I remember loving it when my mom would do it.

The scraps I had left over from Hello Sunshine and the rub-ons were perfect for throwing together some cards.

I just grabbed my scraps and my Slice and cut out a bunch of pieces in layering sizes. You could do this with any shape dies or punches!



Then I assembled them together and added some happy rub-ons.



How cute are these going to be to brighten someones day!

I'm just going to store them in a little bowl and keep them next to the baggies for their lunch so I can just grab them and jot down a little note!

Hi Everyone! I have been busy busy busy packing orders all week! But we need to share some of our Friday's FAves so I was able to break away for a few minutes and here is what I found:


This layout came from our Ning Site by Erica Hettwer. I love the color combination with the pictures of her little Audrey.

I found this fun layout over in the 2 Peas GAllery from the user freytesy. I thought it was so clever to use a circle-it made it interesting and how can you not love the Hello Sunshine papers? Too eye catching.

Masking With Chipboard stickers

Hello everyone!  I love the Lily Bee chipboard stickers because there are so many fun ways to use them.   I used them to create the background on this page:

I simply placed the chipboard stickers on a sheet of cardstock (without removing the protective sticker backing), then I sprayed over them with Shimmerz Spritz. 

After I removed the chipboard stickers, I outlined the shapes with Stickles for a little extra definition.

A repurposed yard sale find

Ok, in the spirit of full disclosure, it was not me that did the actual yard saling and hunting that found this little beauty, but a friend. A sweet friend who decided to pass it on to me to play with. :)



It just so happened that I had a big ol' box of new Lily Bee Designs "Catching Fall" papers and rub ons, so I used them to make this display for my home.
They have the perfect tones that match my home's decor.
I cut up the strip of rub ons that say "so blessed" on the sheet and layered them vertically on top of my shipping tag. The good folks at Maya Road were so generous with us designers this month and we have a few of their fun products to play with- so I added them on here as well!
I added a few of the Lily Bee Design "Christmas Town" chipboard buttons- I love the punch of contrast they add.
A bunting of mini punched hearts was added by simply hand sewing red & white baker's twine through them.

Happy Friday and welcome to Friday Faves. I went hunting around the internet to find some great Lily Bee work and am excited to share what I found with you, today.

Ilene Tell created this gorgeous "Capture Joy" layout found on scrapbook.com. It makes me yearn for Fall. I love her mix of collections and the accent of red chipboard. It's a lovely page.

"Jenga Chips" by Brite1 is such a fun layout. I love all the fun distressing and that yummy piece of bubble wrap. And, yes, there is only one little piece of Lily Bee paper here, but the bright yellow against the neutral background really makes our paper stand out!!! I, also, found this at scrapbook.com.

Anna Bjoerklund created this stunning page. I am mad over those butterflies against the softness of the papers. I just think those are amazing!

Back to School

It's back to school time.

Four of my kids started back yesterday and I found myself having very mixed feelings about it. It's nice to have a little more time to get things done and to get back on schedule but I'll miss all the time I was able to spend with them this past summer.

The kids had mixed feelings as well. My teenagers were not that thrilled to go back, one of my younger ones was nervous at attending a new school but the littlest was so excited. This layout is about his Back 2 School Grin.



I love all the text in the Lily Bee lines and this makes them really great for those school themed projects. Once again I've mixed up the Hello Sunshine line with the Lovely line for a fun and unique color combo and look.

The grid elements in one of the Hello Sunshine papers and die cuts reminds me of school as well. By printing a photo directly on the subtle pattern of the die cut, you end up with a fun photo treatment.


To do this, edit your photo to the size and shape you wish to print. Run a sheet of printer paper through the printer to print a test image. Adhere the die cut paper directly over the printed photo where you wish it to print. Place the paper back into the printer and print again.

While it's pretty quiet around here these days, back to school means I can now get busy having fun with the new Lily Bee lines. I can't wait to get started!
