Hi everyone, this is Georgia. I am so excited to be doing my first blog post as a member of the new team!

This layout is of my son Archie, he has just turned four and is in the "let me do it!" stage. He has decided any buttons around here needing to be pushed are his sole responsibility lol...

I have used a mix of the new picket fence and happily lost lines. One of my favourite things about the new releases would have to be how beautifully they compliment each together, they mix and match perfectly!

I love the layered look but none of the stickers were quite right for my page so I have tucked them under one another and even turned one upside down to get the effect without distracting from my subject.

I can't wait to share some more projects with you all...

A Layout to Share

Hi all! It's Kay, and it's the first time posting for Lily Bee. I am so excited to be a part of this team, and positively LOVE the new lines!
For this layout I used the Picket Fence line. I am IN LOVE with the reds, the purples, and the teals. And the striped paper? It just makes me happy.

And here are a few of the details. I used the flag stickers as a kind of border tucked under the scalloped strip of paper.

I layered a sticker over a scalloped circle, then layered with another flag sticker. I also tucked in the title.

Focus On: Stationery

Good Monday! Hope you had a great weekend.

Today, we are taking a closer look at our Stationery line. If you haven't seen it, click here to take a closer look. It's our line of "basics" that coordinates with our main lines of patterned papers, This & That, Picket Fence, and Happily Lost. One side is small polka dots, and the other side is a vintage grid. These papers are so fun, and so easy to use!

Piradee Talvanna created this gorgeous layout with Stationery. Each butterfly is the flipside of the polka dot banner it's on.

Kay Rogers used Stationery for the background of her pretty layout as well as the photo frame. The polka dots/grid on Stationery are subtle enough to be used without interfering with other patterns.

She loves School

Hi everyone, this is my first blog post here and I couldn't be more excited!
For today's Layout I have chosen a page about my daughter's love of school. She can't wait to get out the door in the mornings and I have tried to capture this excitement of a school morning on my page.
I have painted some of the background with a light coat of Gesso to make the randomly applied rub-ons stand out a little better. The title was cut with my Silhouette. As you will get to know me a little better over the next few months here on the Lily Bee blog you will notice that most of my projects have at least one little bit of yellow color on them. I love how it brightens things up instantly...it's such a happy color!

Using a mix of old and new products

Hi! It's Kim here doing my first post as a new member of the Lily bee team.

This is a layout I did as part of my design team application. I absolutely love the Lily bee rubons and have to admit to hoarding them. I decided that I just had to use them on the layouts that I did for my application and I knew the perfect photo of my son to use with the Laugh 12x12 rubons.

I have used a mix of papers from the French Couture range (including the die cuts) and Domestic Bliss ranges (including chipboard) along with the rubons from the 3 Little Birds range. I love how the Lily Bee collections are so versatile that they can all work so well together.

Challenge: Create a Grid Layout!

One of my favorite go-to page designs is a grid. I love the instant stability this foundation gives a layout, creating specific areas for photos, journaling and embellishments. The nine-square grid is as simple as sketching a tic-tac-toe board on your page, and then filling each area with something:

Friday Finds: the Tuesday Edition

Since I'm packing and moving this whole week,  I thought I'd do Friday Finds today. I guess I should call it Tuesday Finds? Whatever the name, the inspiration is amazing, as usual. I saw Katie Rose's page on Facebook, and I immediately fell in love. Not only is the page bright and cheery, but her daughter's smile is happy-inducing.

Marie Ramirez cleverly used the negative space of the ABC Stickers on this card. How cool is that? I'm so going to do that. Soon!

Jaclyn Rench shared this layout (for the paper piecing challenge) using Hello Sunshine. The bright colors on white cardstock is so eye catching. Those teeny, tiny red pearls and the grey cardstock backing are a great finishing touch. (And those baby cheeks!)

Heather Binnie flattened a bottle cap as a base for our flower Chipboard Sticker. Love the little shine that it adds to the page. And that adorable face staring back? Priceless!

Focus On Mixed Cardstock Stickers

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Today, we are taking a closer look at our Mixed Cardstock Stickers. The past six Lily Bee lines have had their own sheet of stickers that are fun, colorful, and a fast and easy way to add color and pattern to any project.

Jenni Hufford created this layout about her adorable daughter's love for dressing up. She used the the banners on the bottom of the rows of photos, but she also used them to dress up the little Maya Road dressform. And that tulle bottom? That's a Lily Bee flower from our very first release that Jenni unwound and reused as a skirt. Genius!

Lisa Day also used the banner stickers, but she made them into little flags by attaching a pearl stickpin to each sticker. So cute! It highlights each photo perfectly. Such a great idea! She also used a word sticker and the flower in a circle sticker (both from Picket Fence). Love that flower sticker!

Julia Stainton used stickers from her own line Picket Fence  to make this gorgeous layout. Ooh, that darling flower sticker again. I'm also loving how she added a layer of patterned paper to some of the stickers. Great way to make them pop off the page!

Studio Peek: Julia Stainton

I must confess that I'm nosy and love checking out other people's scrap spaces. So I confess, yes, I did want to start this feature here on the Lily Bee blog just so I could see what my teammates' spaces are like. But I hope you are with me, and that you are just as happy to see them.


Today, we are visiting Julia Stainton's space. Julia is a master stamper, cardmaker, and scrapbooker. And if that wasn't enough, she is also the designer of our new line Picket Fence! Phew. Did I mention she has five kids? Her blog, Belle Papier, is fab and always filled with great projects.

Onto what you are waiting for. 

Tell us about your scrap room:

I love my little scrap room. It’s not very big and is actually much smaller than it looks in the photos. The space is about 8’x8’ and I’ve used every single inch of it. I’ve only had my own craft room for just over a year. Crafting in a corner of the family room was not working at all and so my hubby built this small room for me in the basement when we added on a small addition to the house. The window is a southern exposure and there is infloor heating so it really doesn’t seem like I’m in the basement at all.

To get the most out of every bit of this small space, I started off by designing a floor plan to fit my needs. I work at the desk and have lots of tools within easy access. I love stamping and inking paper and my ink pads are really handy on some storage shelves above. The Clip-it-ups are perfect for holding stamps and embellishments to my left so that I can see them and use them.  Most of my paper and other supplies are stored on the opposite wall with the counter. The counter is great for sorting product on as well as die cutting. This little room may be small but I love every single inch of it. It’s my happy place.

What is your favorite "go to" technique when putting together a layout or card?

I’ve been sewing longer than I’ve been paper crafting so stitching must be my “go to” technique. Sewing is so natural to me that I don’t even think of it as a technique and took me a while to think of it. This question was set aside to think about until I passed my sewing machine and thought about how I never ever put it away. I love how stitching can be subtle or bold and really adds beautiful texture to a project.

What were your inspirations for the Picket Fence collection?

The Picket Fence line was inspired by that wonderful feeling of freedom you get from being outdoors in spring and summer. I’m Canadian and winters are oh so long. I love getting outside after a long winter when even the dirt smells good. Picket Fence is inspired by the feeling of sunshine warmth as I garden and the wind on my face when out on the lake. Simple pleasures.

Do you use all those amazing cards you create? Or are they neatly filed away?

As I create a LOT of cards, no, I don’t use them all. My cards make their way to many different places. Some are published, some mailed out to family and friends, some are sold on-line or at a local shop, some are filed away for the future and I donate quite a few.

Dream travel destination: Hawaii

Superhero power: Is there a superhero power that magically cleans at the snap of your fingers? With five kids at home, I could really make good use of that power!

Favorite food: Chocolate!

Favorite color combo: Aqua and Green

Perfect weekend: a night away with my hubby and a day on the water

Altered Embroidery Frame

I have started a series of embroidery frames in various sizes on a wall in our master bedroom. Some have fabric & some scrapbook paper.


While on vacation in Myrtle Beach a month ago, we did a little flea market shopping & I picked up a 6pk of 8" embroidery frames for only $1...totally made my day :)


I love the idea of using pretty pattern paper in embroidery frames. You can dress them up or leave them plain. I wanted to add a few of my favorite instax pictures of my kids in a banner like form, hanging from twine.


Added some rub-ons to each photo & embellished with flower chipboard & butterfly accents.


Super simple & took no time to create. I can't wait until the entire wall is filled with these frames. Thanks for letting me share my project with you today...Happy Creating :)

Bakers Twine Tutorial

I love using Bakers Twine on layouts- it adds such a rich texture to the page, like in this layout using Picket Fence.

Three Little Birds Accent Rub Ons

Lately, my favorite "technique" is to create a whimsical, "loopy", shape with Bakers Twine. When I don't have time to add stitching to my layouts, this is my "go-to" technique. It adds a very natural and organic feel to the layout!

First, the supplies. You will need Bakers Twine on a spool (the smaller the spool, the better-- I really like Martha Stewart's Bakers Twine.), and an adhesive runner (I prefer Helmar's Quick-fix Adhesive Runner).

I like using twine on a spool because it naturally has more "curl" to it.

You will take the twine and start to unroll it from the spool. There will be parts of the twine that naturally "loop" on it's own.

Continue to unroll twine across the page straight from the spool. At this point, don't worry if it's not positioned exactly how you want it.

Once you are done unraveling the twine, cut it from the spool. At this point, position the loops the way you would like it (i flipped the third loop in the opposite direction, and made some loops larger than others).

When the twine is in a position you like, it's time to adhere it to the page. To do this, start on one of the twine and adhere about 1/2 in of adhesive underneath a section of the twine. You can space the adhesive spots a few inches apart. When adhering the loops, you will need to adhere either sides of the loop for enough support. As you do this, you will start to get a feel for what parts of the twine need more adhesive than others.

After you are done adhereing the twine, it's time to go back and remove the "excess" adhesive that pops out from behind the twine. I am sure there are many fancy tools out there that will help you do this, but I simply roll my finger along the adhesive I want to remove and it rolls right up!

Finally, embellish on top of the twine, or leave it as is. It's a fun way to add a fun extra element to your pages!

A Boy and a Bonus...

Today I want to share with you a layout I created using the beautiful Picket Fence line. The thing that I love most about this line is that it has an amazing mixture of patterns and colors. I can create girly girl pages and boy pages at the same time.

But, my favorite part of the new Lily Bee collections has to be the 6x6 tiny tablets. I like to use bits of papers on my layouts and I don't always want to cut into the big 12x12 sheet to use just a little strip of paper. The tiny tablets took that problem away. Now I can use little bits of my favorite papers as much as I want without worrying about cutting up the beautiful big pieces! Perfect!
