30 Minutes of Creating

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day weekend :)

As summer approaches, I am constantly thinking about all the fun things to be done with my kids, which means there isn't a lot of time for creating. I want to spend quality time with them & document all of summers activities & how much fun we had together.

So today, I am sharing a layout I created in 30 minutes, literally & encourage you to use your products to the fullest. I am not a fast scrapper by any means, but there comes a time when you want to get a little creating done without all the stress & worry of how perfect the layout has to be.



Lately, I have not been using a lot of pattern paper, but sometimes feel the background is just too bare. To eliminate that, I used an entire 12x12 sheet of rub-ons to create my background.


I even whipped out my mist, which I hardly ever use. Instead of spritzing my page, I removed the nozzle & used the tube end to create little paint spots throughout the background & embellished the page with brads & chipboard stickers. Fast & easy!

I even pop dotted the photo! Don't you just love silly pictures of your kids? I couldn't resist this photo of mine. My son has a hilarious sense of humor & it truly shows in this photo. Especially, since he is missing three teeth... :)

Today, we have two gorgeous layouts to share with you. I'm seriously in love with both.

First, this amazing layout by Georgia Keays. So pretty!

1. For this layout I have used two 2 inch x 3 inch photos.
2. Cut a 9 1/2 x 7 inch piece of black cardstock and cut strips of 3 different papers of various widths to fill the mat, leaving a thin strip of black between each one.
3. Tie some string around your middle paper and tuck a phrase sticker under the string.
4. Use Petaloo flowers of varying size to create three clusters of flowers.  I have also made a large flower from one of my three papers.
5. Add you title and journaling and splatter with black ink.

1. Using the 6x6 Tiny Tablet, block your papers with your photo as shown.

2. Ink the edges before adhering to the page.

3. Add the strip of ribbon, then attach the Petaloo flowers.

4. Add the banner stickers and the title sticker.

5. Add the chipboard accents (corner, heart, and frame.)

Focus On: Tiny Tablets

Happy Monday. Here in the US, we are celebrating Memorial Day. We are honoring the military men and women who have died fighting for this country. We also want to say THANK YOU for everyone in the military and their families. Thank you for your sacrifices, thank you for all that you do.

Our focus today is on our Tiny Tablets. They are 6"x6", and there are three sheets of each pattern (for a total of 36 sheets). The papers are not just 12"x12" sheets cut up. They are scaled down patterns! They are perfect for cards, but also perfect for layouts and other projects. Here are three great projects that use these tablets.

Loving Lily Bee...

Are you a tool junkie and an embellishment junkie? Well I AM! I love tools like dies and now... button makers. Whenever, I want to play with my new tools and my embellishments I always take out my Lily Bee papers first. I have said it over and over again, the patterns in Lily Bee papers are so versatile that you can cut it, layer it, and use it for your tools.



Here I used my bird edge puncher from Martha Stewart and added a Dusty Attic chipboard...



For this one, I used my Epiphany button maker to make buttons from the 6x6 Lily Bee Paper tablet...



Lily Bee just does it all for me.

Cards on Wednesday

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Today I have three cards for you that are super easy to make!
I like to have a card ready on hand for any occasion.









For my first card I simply used a chipboard shape, covered it with Lily Bee paper, punched out some butterflies and embellished with some twine. I have also used the Picket Fence stamps for a subtle background effect along the right side of the card.

For this next card I've used the Picket Fence stamps to stamp the circle background and the blue stars. I've used some ABC stickers for my sentiment and again...finished!

For my last card I've used a punch to create some borders along the edges of the card and again the Picket Fence stamps (flowers) for the background. Embellish with a Cardstock Sticker and some ribbon and it's done! Just a quick tip on using Stickers...I always put my stickers on cardstock first and cut them out. This allows me to move them around my project when I'm still deciding where to put them.

Having fun ...

in this case for me by scrapbooking and for my son, at the park!

Today I am sharing a layout with you using a mix of ranges, which I just love to do. All of the Lily Bee ranges just work so well together.


A couple of detail shots. I love incorporating banners and just tucked a small one below the strips of patterned papers to add just another detail.

I also created my own little cloud and sun embellishment with a couple of punches and some strips of paper. So easy and so effective - especially on a layout about the park.

I have also layered a number of photos - I actually had to reprint a couple of times trying to calibrate a new printer and I decided to use the offcast photos rather than just throw them out. So I layered them all and joined them at the top with a clip tied with twine before attaching it all to the layout with foam tape.

Rediscovering the Joy.

Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share a page with you using the fabulous Stationery line. I'm in love with the bold colors and simple tone-on-tone patterns. And they just happen to be perfect for a page that includes a lot of journaling like mine:

I copied the journaling from one of my recent blog posts and formatted it into three columns to print directly on my layout. The neutral papers in the Stationery line - Oatmeal (which I used) and Mushroom - make great backgrounds while the brighter colors are ideal for creating a bold, colorful border. I used several sizes of circle punches to create this one.

I also added in some rub-ons, buttons, and butterfly punches to finish this quick page. And while the page topic is about my rediscovering the joy in running, creating this page helped me to rediscover the joy of a simple (and fast!) scrapbook page.

Happy Thursday everyone! (It is Thursday right?!)
I made this quick card to send to my grandma who is currently in the hospital (she's ok, thankfully!). Thank's to Lily Bee I was able to put this card together quickly and almost effortlessly. The way the patterns and embellishments mix together make cardmaking a breeze!

I love the colors of the This & That collection. They actually remind me of my grandma!

Challenge: Use Memorabilia in your layout!

I have a fun challenge to share with you today-- on that will take you back to the "roots" of scrapbooking!

Each year on Mother's Day, my son's preschool class fills out these fun "interviews" about their mom. The interview in this layout was from last year. It was too funny and sweet to just file away in a stack of preschool construction paper (note that according to my son, my "job" is to watch TV!). It's so much fun to include HIS thoughts and art in his scrapbooks.

My challenge to you is to include a piece of memorabilia in your layout. This could be anything to your child's artwork to items like ticket stubs, playbills, brochures, programs, wrappers, clothing tags, school papers... you get the idea.

Its a fun affair

Hi Everyone, Piradee here to share this layout that I created using the gorgeous picket fence and stationery collections. I just love using these pattern papers from the stationery collection - they work perfect with any paper collection. And actually, for this layout I started with the stationery pattern papers and then added in the coordinating picket fence ones.



with the stationery collections - there's an unlimited array of colors to chose from and I opted for the cotton candy paper here to add in some bright and bold colors to the layout. also the ABC stickers from the picket fence collection are super fun to work with and trust me - these alphas {regardless of how small they are} - peel off super easy too!



also here I used some of the cardstock stickers {also from the picket fence collection} to create these little flags. I first started by sticking the banners onto some cardstock, and then triming the cardstock along the edges before sticking/gluing it onto a pin {I used the christmas tree ones from maya road as they have a flat head}.

Focus On: Patterned Paper

Happy Monday! We hope you had a good weekend. For today, we challenged a few of our designers to create layouts focusing on our patterned papers. So if they wanted flowers, they needed to make their own. They used diecut systems, punches, scissors. Maybe a little stamp and ink. We think you'll love the results as much as we do!

- Thin strips of patterned paper are easy to twist by running them along the edge of a sharp pair of scissors

- To make a handcut title, write the word in running writing, cut around outside with scissors, cut out insides of letters with a scalpel and then erase lines.
