It's our final day of PageMaps & Lily Bee Design reveals. Our team has really enjoyed playing with Becky's sketches. Let's see what the final set of designers created with June's PageMaps sketches.
When working with sketches, I tend to gather creative ideas from the bits and pieces as opposed to follow it to a tee. I always love Becky's sketches for that exact reason! I found inspiration in the horizontal strips on the sketch. I moved my strips down below the photo. The scattering of flowers along the bottom gave me the idea to use hearts near the top of my picture. They coordinate with the heart on my daughter's face. Even though I moved my title to a different spot, I used the idea of stitching around it by added the twine from the Embellishment Bundle to the heart and Remember cluster.
Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Paper: Gumball, Lemondrop, Jujubee, Strawberries and Cream; Pink Mint; 6X6 Tiny Tablet; Chipboard Stickers; Chit Chat Stickers: Label Stickers; Letter Stickers; Embellishment Bundle)
I love using sketches as inspiration for my layouts - having a starting point really gets my creative juices flowing and helps move the process along. For this layout, I used the lily bee Pinwheel collection exclusively - the colors were perfect for the photo of my son on his first bike and the overall feel of the paper and embellishments was playful and fun - just like this day!
Supplies: Pinwheel (Lime Rickey, Cherry Blossom, Apricot Tree, Ice Cream Truck, chipboard stickers, embellishment bundle, label stickers, letter stickers, chit chat stickers, circle & tag stickers, 6x6 tiny tablet)
There's just something about using a sketch that takes out so much of the guess work. You can follow it to a "t" or do a looser interpretation but either way, your creativity can still flourish when using a sketch. I followed this particular sketch very closely, just adding a bit more layering around the photos and a banner bundle at the top to help with the symmetry. And of course the Lily Bee Pinwheel and Sweet Shoppe collections were a perfect match for the photos. I couldn't have planned it better!
Supplies: Pinwheel collection (Lime Rickey paper, Cherry Blossom paper, Flower Box paper, Lemonade Stand paper, Chipboard Stickers, Embellishment Bundle, Label Stickers, Letter Stickers, Circle & Tag Stickers), Sweet Shoppe (Salt Water Taffy paper, Gumball paper)
I hope you've enjoyed all the projects we've shared with you over the past 3 days. Many thanks to Becky for teaming up with us. We certainly have enjoyed working with the PageMaps sketches!
