Happy Monday everyone! The focus this week is pattern play. Patterns are really fun to incorporate into scrapping...the possibilities are endless. I've been loving the repeating shape die cut backgrounds but rarely use them so I knew I wanted to incorporate one of those into my layout. In the end I choose a heart pattern since I could tie it in with the message I wanted to tell...my daughter's love for the beach.
The photos of my daughter doing cartwheels on the beach in this layout make me happy and I wanted them to be the focus. I used a white background so the photos would stand out and accented the cut out hearts with shades of blues, greens and wood grain papers to complement the photos. I also repeated the heart pattern in my paper choices.
I layered the white hearts that were cut from the background over the solid hearts to add some more dimension.
I made my title, white on white to keep it from competing with the photos and love the subtle effect of the tone on tone look. The journaling is attached to the back of the layout with a paper clip that is glued to the heart at the top of the page.
Here is a closer look at the layering of heart pattern.
