Cards On Wednesday: Daily Deck Feature

 

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday. It's time for another "Cards on Wednesday" & I'm (Leslie) here
to share a couple of cards I made to go along with this week's theme:  Daily Deck cards in the
new and beautiful We Are Family line.  

My cards are similar in design, first up being the "I Do, Love You"
I started with kraft cardstock. I LOVE how We Are Memories goes with the kraft background.

Supplies:  We Are Family (Mother Daughter Paper, Family Heirloom Paper, Buddies Paper, Daily Deck, Sweet Spot Stickers), Destination (Letter Stickers)

Taking 2 of the daily deck cards, I placed them side by side and cut some tiny strips
to place in the center , breaking the cards apart.  The potty girl/boy cards reminded me
of a couple, so I made my card a wedding/love card theme.  Adding twine tied in a knot
symbolizes the "tying the knot". I'm a fan of how this card turned out.

and card #2 is of the same design, only placing 1 card in the center, on top of a piece of patternedpaper that's flush in the center of my card.  The card comes with "family" typed in the center ofthe heart, I added "we are" in letter stickers , then traced around the heart. I gave it some "stitches" because every family is stitched together, and the ties that bind them are never ending.

Focus On: The Daily Deck

Hello everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Today, we are sharing a great new feature in both of the fall releases, the Daily Deck cards.  I am sharing the be We R Family collection today!

Throwback Thursday

Hi Lily Bee friends!  Last week Leslie introduced us to a new feature here on the blog - Throwback Thursday!  You can read more details about it here.

I chose to throw it back to the very first set of cards I shared here on the Lily Bee blog - way back an entire year ago when I was invited to be a guest designer!  You can see that entire post here.  But here's a peek at that card set.

 

And here's the set of cards I created with the brand new collection, We R Family, inspired by the card set from last year.

I loved the idea of having a few somewhat personalized cards in my stash for giving to family members.  One for dad:

And two cards for special gals:

Any of these cards would work for any occasion, simply by adding a little sentiment to the inside (or on the outside), such as "Happy Birthday," "Thinking of You," or "Just Because."

Focus on Monday | Halloween and Fall Festivities

Hello Lily Bee fans! This week we will be focusing on Halloween and Fall projects! I thought it would be fun to show you how well the new We R Family collection works for a Halloween layout.

To begin, I changed my photo to black and white, since a pink zebra stripe cat costume wasn't going to work with the beautiful color palette of the We R Family collection. Once that was done, I decided to use some fun Halloween words and phrases as the base of the layout, leaving some room for the typical Halloween images and my photo.

Here is the end result...

For the border I cut small squares from the patterned paper and layered them around the edge. This is a great way to create a border on a 12x12 layout without using the entire sheet of patterned paper. It adds some dimension to the layout too.

I used the Subway Art concept for my design andI laid out all the words and images in my Silhouette software. Once I liked how it looked, I moved the images off the cutting area and cut just the words. I backed the words with a variety of patterned papers and simply taped them to the back of the cardstock.

After I was finished with the words, I used a piece of Kraft cardstock to cut my Halloween images and added those along with my photo and journling.

I finished it off with a few of the new heart enamel stickers.

Throwback Thursday | Write It Down

Hi! Welcome to a brand new feature here at the Lily Bee blog!
We normally call today...Thursday. However! It's a new kind of Thursday - it's a Throwback Thursday!

Meaning... you can take  Old photos, previous Lily Bee collections, old techniques used in a brand new, modern style, you can evenscrap lift an old layout of yours using new current trends!

How's that for fun?

Today I did that with my layout.
I took a layout I made last October using Lily Bee products & recreated it
in a new, refreshing way...using brand new Lily Bee products - We Are Family!

this new We Are Family line is so beautiful!
I love the soft colors with the bold navy blue and red.

I decided to let my "words" be surrounding my photo - with letter stickers, stamps, my own
journaling & the new cards from the daily deck.





I don't think it needed anything else. I wanted my focus to be my sweet "littles" -
my family. I love these guys (who are now 21 & 22. they're 7 & 8 here!)

Focus on Monday | Write it Down

Welcome to a new theme and my first layout using the brand new We R Family line!  Gorgeous line to work with.  I used this collection for our new theme "Write it Down."  Think journaling, lists, creative journaling, etc.  I wanted to showcase my daughter in her new adventure of creating her own lists.

This was the start of her Christmas wishlist and she started adding to it.  I questioned why she wanted a "bad" princess dress.  She is excited about the new movie Frozen.  The Ice Princess's sister has the prettier dress, but is the one who trapped the kindom in eternal winter, so I told her she was the bad princess.  She was listening!  

I had to give a reason for the title, but I know you want to see the collection.  I fussy cut the doilies from the Family Dinner paper and layered them.  Cut leaves from the Family Tree paper.  Isn't that background paper pretty?  It is Family Ties Paper

Keeping the theme "Write it Down," the layout was completely based and inspired by that theme.  I cut the pencil from Family Portrait.  Those sweet spots are perfect with the different sizes.  And adorable wood veneer.  

You can see some of the green Home Sweet Home paper peeking through there.  The photo is not a pretty photo, but so very special.  I wanted to dress it up and cut out the center of vellum and stitched around to make a frame on top of it.

And one last close up.  The "Bad" is cut from the Family Tree paper.  And those adorable Sweet Spots.  Small enough to dot the question parks.  Love that.
